Mesh installation
Bird-proofing that keeps the array to yourself
The gap under a solar array is prime real estate for pigeons. Once they move in you get nesting material, droppings on the panels, blocked gutters and corrosion. Bird-proofing closes that gap with discreet mesh around the perimeter, so the array stays yours.
Method
- 01Look over the array perimeter and the gaps the birds are using.
- 02Fit galvanised mesh clipped to the panel frames — no drilling into panels, no damage to the array.
- 03Clean down any existing mess and debris as part of the install.
What to expect
A tidy, near-invisible perimeter that holds up to weather and UV. Best done after a clean, so the array starts protected and clean.
Why it matters
Droppings are acidic, and anything shading a cell costs you output. Keeping birds out protects the glass and the generation both.
Common questions
Will the mesh damage my panels?+
No. The mesh clips to the panel frames — we don’t drill into panels or penetrate the roof in a way that risks the array or its warranty.
Is it noticeable from the ground?+
Barely. It sits at the panel edge and reads as part of the array rather than an addition to it.
